Rosewood London, the first European property of the sophisticated Rosewood collection, opened in London in October 2013. The Edwardian Belle Époque palace, with an original carriageway entrance to the intimate courtyard and the grand Pavonazzo marble staircase rising over seven storeys, has been renewed with a transformation worth more than UDS 130 million (GBP 85 million). Conveying the feel of a stylish London residence, the designer Tony Chi and Associates created 262 guestrooms and 44 suites, among which the unique Grand Manor House Wing, an exclusive apartment with its own postcode, accessible by a private elevator. Well-known for his work on some of London’s most popular restaurants, Martin Brudnizki has designed Holborn Dining Room with an outdoor terrace as well as the hotel’s warmly welcoming bar.
Located in an area that is now known as Mid-Town, Rosewood London is close to key London sights and cultural attractions such as Covent Garden, the City and the river Thames. Cultural gems such as the British Museum, which is the world’s oldest public museum, are literally a stone’s throw away. For those looking for a unique British shopping experience, quaint Lambs Conduit street, just a few moments away by foot, provides an array of independent boutiques.
