ENVIRON has worked in Russia and the CIS region for around 15 years and established a permanent Moscow office in 2010. We have completed numerous assignments in Russia including:
- Environmental, health and safety due diligence audits, primarily on behalf of investors.
- Environmental and social assistance to developers of major resource extraction, energy and infrastructure projects, often in response to the requirements of international financial institutions (e.g. compliance with Equator Principles or EBRD requirements).
- Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) of proposed new developments to both national and international standards.
- Development and implementation of environmental and social management systems.
- Assistance with environmental permits.
- Compliance audits.
ENVIRON has had a significant long-term role in the management of environmental and social issues in major gas pipeline projects (Nord Stream and South Stream) and worked with a wide variety of clients who are investing or expanding their operations in Russia. Other key ENVRON clients in Russia are in the oil and gas, mining, chemicals and financial sectors. Our Moscow office also serves a growing number of Russian clients.
