The combined companies had a very different geographical coverage and client base. Ernest Green Holdings plc had a strong private sector client base centred in the South of England, Bristol, London and Norwich.
Since the merger, the company has grown from a regional consulting engineering business into an international consultancy through organic growth and over 20 acquisitions including Adams Kara Taylor, Savell Bird Axon, Tweeds and Trench Farrow in the UK and Denis Rooney Associates, PH McCarthy and Nolan Ryan in Ireland. The acquisition of IMC Consulting and DeLeeuw International helped the company to develop internationally. In 2008, the company restructured and rebranded to WYG. Today, WYG has over 2,500 employees and operates in over 40 countries.
